Overview

Round pine base with rounded edge. The upper surface has had seven strips of alternately Sheoak and Jarrah glued to it. The cover is slightly smaller than the base.
On the back is a white paper label that has black printed text with spaces for text to be written in pencil and pen.

Historical information

Made by Mr Vernon Marsh of Armadale State School, Third Road Armadale. Completed in 1928 at age 12. Armadale State School was the only school in the Southern Corridor to have a manual arts facility. An example of Manual Arts projects conducted in the late 1920's in schools to develop hand skills for future use in employment.
