Historical information

Cylinder record for a Edison Gem Phonograph. Cylinders played and recorded music and sounds. Cylinder record plays song 'On Calvary's Brow'. Invented by Thomas Edison in the United States of America. Mr Ron Blowes of Thornlie lent the machine to the Armadale History House. Items found in a shed in a rusted condition with damage caused by white ants to the phonograph base and some of the record containers. Restored by Barry Blacklow and Guenter Best.
