Overview

A ninety, sixty, thirty degree set square made from wood. The long side at the thirty degree angle is damaged.
Has [V MARSH] printed in pencil on one side.

Historical information

Made by Mr Vernon Marsh of Armadale State School. He made the object around the ages of 11 and 13. At that time, Armadale State School was the only school in the Southern Corridor to have a manual arts facility. This set square is an example of a manual arts project conducted in the late 1920's in schools to develop hand skills for future use in employment.
