First World War Postcard of a ‘Sailing Dahabeah’, Cairo

A black and white artistic postcard depicting three sailing boats moored on the banks of a river. The main boat in the image has two decks with windows on the lower level and an open upper deck with an awning. There are two masts, one each at the front and rear, the front being the taller of the two. There is a wooden walkway from the bank to the front of the boat on which a local man is standing. There is another man standing on the bank and both men are looking at the image taker. The boat has two dinghies attached to it and what appears to be oars at the front and side. There is a large palm tree on the riverbank and buildings can be seen in the distance on the opposite side of the river. The postcard has slight damage to its corners and a small oil stain at the bottom edge that shows front and back. The front is printed with a description of the image, and the reverse is a pale green colour with dirt marks visible and proforma printing.
