First World War Postcard of ‘Egyptian Types and Scenes - Veranda of Arab House’, Egypt

A black and white postcard depicting the outside of a stone building and its large open veranda. The image shows three large open arches on the second floor of the building with a balustrade crossing in front of two of them and a small Juliet style balcony set into the third. The inside of the veranda has decorative tiles and there is a further decoration hanging below the balcony area. Underneath the veranda on the street level are two doors into the building and a further thin arch set into the stone. There are three people outside the building, one appears to be a woman, one a boy and finally a bearded man. The postcard has damage to the left side corners. The reverse is a pale green colour with several marks. The front is printed with a description of the image, and the reverse has proforma printing.
