First World War Black and White Postcard of Marg Cairo

c. 1915
Overview

A sepia-coloured artistic postcard showing a camel and a group of women on a stone and dirt path. The camel has a saddle and there is a basket on the ground that it is assumed contains food. The women are walking in a line behind the camel carrying items on their heads. There is a stone edge to the path and behind the line of women, there appears to be others washing items in a waterway. At the very back of the image are the stone walls of buildings and several palm trees. The postcard has considerable damage to its left-hand side and there is a large oil stain that can be seen front and back. The reverse has proforma printing and description of the image.
