First World War Postcard of the ‘Courtyard of the Mosque of Mohammad Ali’, Cairo

A black and white artistic postcard depicting an open walkway with several tall columns equally spaced along its left-hand edge and a building on its right. The walkway has a roof atop the columns made up of arches with large glass lights hanging down, that can be seen along its length. The building to the right has ornate window grills and carvings in the stone that again can be seen along the length. Outside of the line of columns to the left is a courtyard. There is a man seated on the floor at the front of the image with his back to the photographer. The postcard is in reasonable condition although there is a fold at the top left side that has cracked the image. There is also damage on one bottom corner and damage to the other top corner. The reverse is a pale green colour with several marks. The front is printed with a description of the image, and the reverse has proforma printing.
