The WA Digger Book from Roebourne RSL
1929A 160-page booklet with soft paper covers and pages. The front cover has R.S.L. badge with a void in the centre to show a portrait of Col. H.B. COLLETT. The cover edges show many tears including a large tear at the top left-hand corner. The centre void also has damage at the edge. The colours of the print remain very bright.
The WA Digger Book was published by the Returned Sailors' and Soldiers' Imperial League (WA Branch) in 1929, proceeds in aid of the State War Memorial Fund. The booklet contains story, verse, drawings and photographs, which chronicle West Australian Diggers' experiences of World War I. It contains forewords and articles by Sir John MONASH, Sir Harry CHAUVEL and Sir Talbot HOOBS Hobbs. The booklet was printed and published for the Press Sub-branch of the RSL by Imperial Printing Co. Ltd, 397 Hay Steet, (East) Perth and the cover printing was donated by The S.H. Lamb Printing House of Bannister St. Fremantle.
