Overview

A book with dun coloured stiff card covers, black lettering on the front. Within a rectangular box at the top of the cover is text [THE / PERFECTION / (DEPARTMENTAL) / PASTEL AND / CHALK DRAWING BOOK].
Below is an emblem of a circular belt enclosing a swan and reeds. Under this is text with sections that have been filled in with pencil. [No 23 / NAME Patty Glew / CLASS V / SCHOOL Francis Xavior School] Along the bottom is the makers information.
The pages are the same stiff card and separated by tissue with various scenes pruduced with different coloured chalk.
The edges of the pages have been damaged by a combination of damp and silverfish.

Historical information

Owned by Patrica Glew, who used the drawing book as a student at Francis Xavier School in Year V. The Roman Catholic Church ran the private educational establishment. The school commenced in Armadale in 1938. It was located next to the Church, on the corner of Southwestern Highway and Thomas Street. In 2004, the school and Church moved to Forrest Road.
