GENERAL EMBROIDERY, EDGING

Overview

A remnant piece of hand embroidered edging featuring repeat design of flowers leaves and berries. Black silk background with multicoloured silk thread embroidery. Prior to the 1950s this was very commonly made in both China and India for applique onto garments. Purchased by donor on a tour of China in 1990’s.
