Beautifully hand knotted lace edging made by a family in Turkey, a gift to the donor.

A lace edging consisting of knots made with a needle and thread.

Lattice-like needle knotted band to which are attached semi-circles of knotted lace worked in white, pink and green synthetic thread.

Needle knotted lace is known by different names - Greece ‘dandella’, in Turkey and Cyprus ‘bibila’ and ‘oya’. Also known as Armenian lace, Rodi lace, Nazareth lace, Phoenician lace, Palestinian and Smyrna.
