MACHINE EMBROIDERY, EDGING
An example of complex embroidery produced by machine for the embellishment of a garment in the latter
part of the 19th century.
A narrow strip of ecru machine-made edging with a dense repeating scroll and leaf design with a Handstitched? gimp outline on fine machine made net. The floral motif has a central feature emulating needle lace. The lower edge is scalloped and the upper edge raw.
