LACE, MACHINE, EDGING

Overview

This lace edging, machine made, emulates Brussels Duchesse bobbin lace.

A very delicate edging which consists of sprays of flowers connected by twisted brides with picots.
At the base are 4 large flowers, 55 x 35mm, each with 8 petals, set in a boat-like scroll: two are inversed.
Below each upright one, is a line of motifs - three wheels and two shamrocks.
Above the large flowers are meandering sprays of smaller flowers, leaves and stems.
Would have been used on female costume.
