RACK, TIE

Overview

Tie rack. Rectangular base has the top edge bevelled, with a square post fitted to the middle of the base. At the top there is a flat board curved top flat bottom with the corners at a 45° angle with a large oval hole in the middle. Circa 1928.

Historical information

Made by Mr Vern Marsh who attended the Armadale School from 1928-1930 when he was between 11 and 13 years of age. The Armadale school at the time was the only school in the south east corridor to have the facilities for manual arts training. His teacher was Mr Pearce.
