Flat disc, branze with two scrolls, one upper with the text [ SPANNING A CENTURY] & lower [LEADING THE WAY] Between the scrolls left [1894] and right [1994] . In the centre is the City of Armadale's logo.
The reverse has a laurel wreath and the maker's name.

Historical information

Centenary medallion for the City of Armadale. Centenary celebrated 1894 - 1994 of the citys history. The City of Armadales logo contains the old Armadale school, church, bridge and park near Orchard Avenue.
Spanning the Years 1894-1994 book states the logo was chosen as it is: Immediately identifiable, recognisable as distinctive of Armadale, illustrative of the City's past and being positive to the City's future.
Medallion made by Sheridan (est 1913) of Jolimont, Perth.

Statement of significance

Part of a collection of items produced to celebrate 100 years since the establishment of the Kelmscott Road Board in 1894 than has since grown with the local community and is today the City of Armadale. This collection is part of a larger collection of items that focuses on the history and impact of local government on the community. Local Government plays an important role in providing services to the local community and provides a snap shot into what issues are important to the local community.
