WEAVING, TOWEL
A wonderful collection of five hand towels handwoven by the donor’s grandmother in Umbria, Italy, whose family migrated to WA in 1949. Part of a set of household linen, where the flax was grown on the family property, spun and woven into a bedspread, 2 sheets, embroidered hand towel and these five hand towels.
(a) Diamond and hour glass pattern woven at each end. Macrame fringe 200 mm.
(b) Diamond woven pattern at each end. Macrame fringe 200 mm.
(c) Zig-zag woven pattern at each end and macrame fringe 200 mm.
(d) Diamond and hour glass pattern woven at each end. Filet crochet edging attached to towel 150 mm.
(e) Diamond and hour glass pattern woven at each end. 90 mm filet crochet edge not fully sewn on.
