Whitework embroidery, broderie anglaise, on a pair of attractive pillow shams stitched in Western Australia in early 20th century. Pillow shams are no longer essential aspect of bed linen in 21st century.
Floral design with cutwork bars. Scalloped edge in blanket stitch.
