LACE, MACHINE, BAG

Overview

A dainty lady’s drawstring bag, often called a reticule or Dorothy bag, was a popular bag of the early 1900s.

Made of black silk, with a machine made silk/cotton lace panel.

The bag was made and used by the donor’s grandmother in Canada and later used by donor’s daughter at a ball in Perth in 1996.

The silk threads at the top of the bag are disintegrating.
