Overview

Metal and enamel membership badge of the Western Australian Section of the Australian Aero Club. It has an outer border in dark blue with gold edges both sides in which is written 'Aust. Aero Club, W. Aust. Section'. The central area is white and has the letters 'AAC" in gold with two gold wings extending well beyond the centre on either side. The reverse has a circular gold metal attachment.

Historical information

The Royal Aero Club of Western Australia was incorporated in August 1929 as the Aero Club of Australia (W.A. Section) Inc. and flew its first aircraft from the Maylands Aerodrome in April 1930. On that date, the Club officially took over the training from Perth Flying School, with two de Havilland DH.60 Moth aircraft donated by the Federal Government.
