Alfred Meakin semi-porcelain lidded trinket box - Royal Flying Corps
Rectangular white, glossy trinket box with a convex lid made by Alfred Meakin in a material described as 'Royal Semi Porcelain'. It has a representation of the Royal Flying Corps cap badge on the lid in a deep pink colour. The base has four out-turned feet and a scalloped design between those feet.
The maker's details appear on the underside of the base.
The Alfred Meakin company operated between 1875 - 1976. The Royal Flying Corps badge on the lid features a King's Crown which dates it to before 1952. The Royal Flying Corps became the Royal Air Force in late 1918. This piece may have been produced after that time as a souvenir.
