Overview

Circular tin-backed, celluloid badge produced to raise funds for the Australian Air League.
It has white writing on a dark blue background around the border.
In the centre is the image of a dark blue biplane flying through white clouds in a light blue sky.
Below that is the motto ''To defend, to develop' in a dark blue scroll, the price of the badge (5 shillings) in a circle, and the distribution details.
The reverse has a metal pin which encircles the edge of the badge before ending in a point which can be pushed through clothing for attachment.
