Australian Air League fundraising badge - smaller size
c. 1940Circular tin-backed, celluloid badge produced to raise funds for the Australian Air League. It has white writing on a dark blue background.
In the centre is the logo - outstretched wings either side of a shield containing an image of a plane in flight. Below that is the motto ''To defend, to develop', the price of the badge (5 shillings) and the distribution details.
The reverse has a metal pin which encircles the edge of the badge before ending in a point which can be pushed through clothing for attachment.
The Australian Air League (AAL) is a not-for-profit, civilian operated aviation youth organisation in Australia.
