WWI era bisque doll - 'Dinky'
c. 1915Hollow bisque china kewpie-style figure in the form of an imp. He has large painted eyes and blue tipped ears and is posed with his finger to his red lips as though thinking. He has black paint on top of his head and also lower on the back of his head. He is standing erect on a small pedestal on which the name 'DINKY' is written. He appears naked, but may have had clothing when originally produced.
He was purchased with other WWI bisque dolls called "Fums Up'. Research has yielded little information about him.
