c. 1940Wooden collection box featuring a female Voluntary Aid Detachment (VAD) figure in uniform. Blue painted box with coin slot on the top and featuring wooden VAD figure (upper body) in indoor uniform gesturing towards coin slot and words 'Thank You' in red below coin slot. The words 'British Red Cross Society' feature in red on the front of the box underneath a Red Cross emblem. The box is emptied via a wooden panel in the base. Paint has cracked and come away from parts of the figure and it has a repaired break across the neck.
