German bisque sailor doll - boy

Overview

One of a pair of two bisque kewpie-style dolls dressed in sailor's uniforms. This one is dressed as a boy, having a short tunic, cap and sailor-style collar in white fabric, all trimmed with dark blue ribbon.
His arms are movable, but the rest of his body is moulded, with the legs fixed together. He is skin coloured and has painted red lips, rosy cheeks, blue eyes and long dark eyelashes.
The word 'Germany' is impressed into the clay on the back of the doll.
