TAMBOUR, PANEL
This early 20th century panel from one end of an Indian sari is an example of vibrant machine tambour embroidery using copper yarn and silk thread. The lilac indigo dyed fine silk fabric is richly & densely decorated with tambour work. The design has geometric squares within which are leaf and scrolling floral motifs. Some motifs are padded satin stitch using a copper thread.
