CUTWORK, PILLOWCASE
An interesting example of European pillowcase with cutwork embroidered design resembling a Tree of Life.
This white cotton pillowcase is assembled by machine. The back is in 2 sections with a button and buttonhole casing. Hand stitched around the sides is an edging made of whipped cotton strands, caught into gimps of four and
gathered into twos. The front of the pillowcase has a central motif of a man and woman and a tree surrounded by floral motifs. The triangular emblems at the corners are unusual.
