LACE, KNITTING, TEA CLOTH
This attractive early 20th century circular lacey tea cloth, “fairy knitting”, was knitted on circular needles in Busselton by the aunt of the donor, a Guild member.
An attractive design of 6 thistles radiating from the centre, surrounded by 6 knitted bands, illustrating a range of knitted lace patterns.
The design, “Thistle Design BALMORAL”, was from the book ‘Second Book of MODERN LACE KNITTING’ by Marianne Kinzel, Dover Publications, 1972 pages 100 - 105.
