LACE, KNITTING, MAT
An early 20th century delightful knitted doyley, made in Busselton by the aunt of the donor, a Guild member.
The circular design illustrates intricate lace knitting, “fairy knitting” on circular needles with fine ecru cotton.
The outer edge has a crochet finish as illustrated on page 23.
The design has been modified from the pattern “SUN RAY” in book ‘First Book of MODERN LACE KNITTING’ by Marianne Kinzel, pages 73 – 76 in that only the central ‘Sun Ray’ has been used.
