LACE, KNITTING, TRAY CLOTH
An early 20th century delightful knitted lace tray cloth, made in Busselton by the aunt of the donor, a Guild member.
The large design illustrates intricate lace knitting “fairy knitting” on circular needles with fine white cotton.
The circular design has been slightly modified from the pattern “SUN RAY” in the book ‘First Book of MODERN LACE KNITTING’ by Marianne Kinzel, pages 73 – 76. The outer edge has a crochet finish as illustrated on page 23.
