PLATE: WEMBLEY WARE, TASMANIAN HOSPITALS

Overview

Cream glazed plate (second) with depression in centre. It has a crown above an outline of Tasmania containing the words 'TASMANIAN / HOSPITALS'. There are run marks in the centre of plate, also on edge/rim and the reverse.

Base: The reverse has crown with the words 'WEMBLEY - QUALITY WARE -' in a circle containing a stylised 'WB' in brown. The plate has been jollied and fired on stilts. There are two concentric ridged circles inside the foot.

Historical information

Entree plate manufactured by Bristile (Wembley Ware) for Tasmanian Hospitals. Donated by Robert Cock from his private collection.
