Wembley Ware Collection

About This Collection

Wembley Ware was the name given to a line of glazed fine china products manufactured at the Bristile factory in Subiaco from 1946 to 1961. The highly lustrous and decorative products ranged from functional household items to sculptures and figurines.

The site was established by Calyx Porcelain in 1921, which was then taken over by Brisbane & Wunderlich Ltd in 1941. The purchase of the factory site from the State Government was completed in 1946, and the first section of the new factory was opened in October of that year. In 1992 the company was renamed Australian Fine China.
