PLATE: WEMBLEY WARE, WESTERN AUSTRALIAN CREST

Overview

Cream glazed entrée plate with Western Australian crest and ribbon on the top centre. Crest: Lion and Unicorn holding the Royal Coat of Arms with a ribbon of the words 'Deus et mon droit' (God and my right). Beneath is a black swan and some reeds and a ribbon containing the words ' CYGNIS INSIGNIS' all in black.

Reverse: Manufactured by jollying and fired on stilts the three marks of which are evident on the reverse. There is a depression in the centre. The reverse has a crown with 'WEMBLEY - QUALITY WARE - in a circle underneath containing a stylised 'B&W'. Plate manufactured for WA Government.

Entree plate manufactured by Bristile as Wembley Ware for the WA Govt. Donated by Robert Cock from his private collection.
