Overview

World War Two era Royal Canadian Air Force diamonte, mother of pearl and enamel sweetheart brooch.
It is roughly circular in shape with a diamond mother of pearl centre flanked by four arcs of diamonte chips each held on a silver metal stalk.
Attached to the mother of pearl area is a silver tone and enamel wreath with a solid centre which bears the initials 'RCAF' in blue enamel and is surmounted by a King's Crown with red enamel detailing.
The reverse has a clip on each side of the central mother of pearl diamond to hold it in place.
The maker's name appears on the top right hand side and a pin clasp with a rotating swivel lock for attachment extends on the diagonal from top right to lower left.

Historical information

This sweetheart brooch is one of many produced and sold to servicemen to give to their loved ones during wartime.

Keyes Jewellers Mfg Ltd was an upscale Canadian costume jewellery manufacturer based in Montreal, Quebec.
