Royal Australian Air Force silver tone sweetheart brooch in form of circle suspended from bar

World War Two era Royal Australian Air Force silver tone sweetheart brooch in the form of a voided circle with attached crest suspended from a horizontal bar.
Mounted inside the circular ring is a gilded wedge-tailed eagle in flight. It is surmounted by a King's Crown with red enamel detailing and underlined by a scroll with the letters 'R.A.A.F.' embedded in dark blue enamel. The ends of the scroll are filled with contrasting pale blue and white enamel.
There is a flat ring at the top of the circular disc through which an elongated link of chain is connected to another metal ring beneath the suspension bar above.
The suspension bar has rope like detailing on the front and a pin clasp to the reverse. The maker's name, 'DAMMAN' is impressed into the reverse of the gilded eagle.
