GLADALAN PUNNET X 4
4 navy blue moulded punnets, each divided into eight sections with one drainage hole in the base of each one. Each section has vertical ribs around the side to assist with removing the seedlings from the punnet.
The Gladalan Nursery Pty Ltd was established in Grays Road, Armadale in the 1920s and is most famous for developing the Gladalan Brown onion (Amarllidaceae Allium cepa), an heirloom variety bred by Glad and Alan Brown. The building was demolished in 2008. Punnets were traditionally made with pliable materials such as fir, wicker, carboard or willow and were sometimes called 'pottle'. Contemporary punnets are generally made of plastic.
