GENERAL EMBROIDERY, BEDSPREAD
c. 1900A silk embroidered bedspread from colonial times during the British Empire in India.
The cotton fabric is a peachy colour embroidered with bright silk threads.
Design consists of a large bird of paradise in each corner and smaller birds in the centre and between. Assorted leaves and berries surround these – liquid amber, maple.
Bedspread made up with two sections of fabric. Between the joins is a band of drawn thread work.
