MACHINE EMBROIDERY, HAT
2000Silk paper art-work designed, embroidered and made by WA Textile Artist, Judith Pinnell circa 2000.
This black pill box ‘cocktail’ hat, is embellished with machine couched decorative cords, appliqued brocade and a long silk beaded tassel. Piping around the perimeter of the crown.
Inside, the back is lined with synthetic batting. Also a label, ‘Created by Judith Pinnell’.
This hat is illustrated in Judith’s book, “‘Take Silk; a guide to silk paper of the creative fibre artist’, Sally Milner, Bowral, 2001 page 44
