BEADWORK, BAG

c. 1920 - 1929
Overview

Stitched by hand in France circa 1910, this delightful cut steel beaded bag is unique, having a pattern created by level of polished shading of the beads, the design (hardly discernible) taken from tapestry work of the 19th century.

Decorative bead fringing at the base.

Ornate gilt frame with twist knob fastening and a double gilt chain strap attached to each side of the bag’s frame.

Pink silk lining with an embroidered label stating “Made in France”.
