Overview

An attractive or nue goldwork panel with 3 different flowers, leaves and a butterfly, all symbolic.

Peony – spring, lotus – summer, orchid – and butterfly – happiness, beauty and elegance.

The flowers and leaves have pink and green or nue couching, on an ecru silk fabric.

This surrounded by a woven braid band, in blues with bats, symbolising happiness and good fortune and

Chinese letter Shuangxi meaning double happiness – happiness and longevity.

On the edge of the ecru silk fabric is narrow red silk piping and then a band of woven gold damask with geometric design edged with black silk.

The back ls lined with tan coloured silk fabric.

On the back is a label with words’ No 13 Peking China”.
