CREWEL WORK, BEDSPREAD
The centre of the bedspread has a pomegranate tree (1400mm height, 400mm width) with 8 fruit, 8 clusters of orange flowers and 3 insects. Trunk in various shades of brown. Leaves in long and short stitch in greens, yellows, browns and golds. Flowers in shades of cream to orange. Fruit, a seed pod in variegated browns contains dark red seeds. The tree is surrounded by a continuous coil consisting of leaves encircling single flowers. In each corner is a pomegranate in colours of main tree. 25mm in from edge is a band of drawn thread embroidery.
The bedspread has a 100mm wide lace edging – cotton handmade Bedfordshire bobbin lace.
