KNITTING, MAT
An unusual hand knitted doyley made in England late 19th century by donor’s great grandmother.
From the mid 19th century, printed Women’s magazines with patterns of all the home crafts were prolific resulting in a variety of hand-made table linen, assorted accessories and ornaments for the Victorian home.
This cotton knitted doyley has two different leaf patterns in the centre and a loose cotton fringe.
