CROCHET, EDGING

Overview

An unusual textured crochet edging characterized by a Solomon’s Knot, a distinctive "knot" stitch, which is made by pulling up a loop, holding it, and then drawing another loop through it.

Background of textured Solomon’s knot, with fan-like shapes in treble crochet and a scalloped edge.

Crochet patterns, widely publicised in Women’s magazines in late 19th and early 20th enabled the lady of the house to create decorative edgings to household articles.
