c. 1940 - 1949A most unusual item – a sachet for dirty handkerchiefs made a young girl for home use.
This is one of a set of containers belonging to the donor, Lettie Tamblyn who made them as a young girl under the guidance of her mother, Jean Greenwood.
Made of blue cotton fabric, edged with deeper blue bias biding. Includes a metal hanger.
Front is embroidered in yellow and white flowers in stem stitch and satin stitch with green leaves in stem stitch.
Has an opening at the top, covered by a flap
