This is one of a set of bags and sachets belonging to the donor, Lettie Tamblyn, donated to the Guild.
These were an essential component of a lady’s containers in the home, ‘a place for everything and everything in its place’.
Square white cotton sachet with a flap, broderie anglaise embroidery, reminiscent of Maderia work.
Fine buttonhole stitch edging and holes whip stitched.
