CROCHET, TRAY CLOTH
A white fine crochet tray cloth with an unusual design, rather like drawn thread pattern of 19th century.
Pattern possibly Hungarian.
Design consists of 5 bands. Centre square and third band a lattice work grid with chain stitch.
Band 2 and 3 consists of little floral squares.
Outside band an unusual crochet edge with chain and treble stitches.
This crochet design is reminiscent of the drawn thread design in item # 2015.49 in the Collection -
the ‘Bride Ship’ table centre donated by Yvonne Lawrence of late 19th Century.
