FLAG: SHENTON PARK SCOUTS GROUP, PURPLE

Overview

Rectangular, made from purple cotton headcloth. It is machine hemmed with a wide hem on one side to allow a pole or rope to be threaded through. The words 'Shenton Park' and 'Scouts Group' are printed on the flag in black velour-type stick-on letters. In the centre of the flag is a purple polished cotton square (150mm) bearing a white fleur-de-lis encircled by a rope tied in a reef knot. This emblem appears on both sides of the flag.

Historical information

The Shenton Park Scout Group was established in 1924 and went into recess in February 1993. The flag was displayed in the Murchison St. headquarters until 1993. It was used for ceremonial purposes.
