FLAG: SHENTON PARK SCOUTS GROUP, YELLOW 'CUBS' FLAG
c. 1970From a collection of three flags donated together.
Flag is rectangular and made of yellow cotton headcloth. Flag is machine hemmed and has a wide hem on left side through which a rope or pole can be threaded. Flag has a purple cotton square sewn in the centre bearing a white fleur-de-lis, encircled by a white rope tied in a reef knot. This emblem is on both sides of each flag. The flag has the words 'Shenton Park' in black velour stick-on letters on the upper half of the flag. 'Cubs' in black stick-on letters below the fleur-de-lis.
The Shenton Park Scout Group was established in 1924 and went into recess in February 1993. Flags were displayed in the Murchison St. headquarters until 1993.
