c. 1939World War Two era Royal Canadian Air Force gold filled sterling silver sweetheart brooch.
It features silver detailed outspread pilot wings flanking a solid central gold wreath containing the letters 'RCAF', surmounted by a King's Crown.
The reverse has the words 'GF' and 'STERLING' impressed in the centre along with a maker's mark.
It has a metal pin clasp for attachment.
This sweetheart brooch is one of many produced and sold to servicemen to give to their loved ones during wartime.
This brooch is made from high quality gold filled sterling silver which consists of a thick layer of gold bonded to a solid sterling silver base. It is likely to have been manufactured and sold by a jeweller.
