Overview

World War Two era Royal Canadian Air Force gold tone and enamel sweetheart brooch with hanging loop.
It features detailed outspread pilot wings flanking a central solid wreath containing the monogrammed gold letters 'RCAF' with blue enamel background, surmounted by a King's Crown with red enamel detailing.
The reverse has a flat metal piece soldered to it with a lower loop which presumably had some sort of item such as a locket or photo attached.
There is no maker's mark and it has a pin clasp with rotating swivel lock for attachment.

Historical information

This sweetheart brooch is one of many produced and sold to servicemen to give to their loved ones during wartime.
It is missing whatever was suspended from the metal loop.
